Enjoy a 2-week trek and visit the base camp that Joe Simpson and Simon Yates started their epic adventure to climb the mountain Siula Grande. Add time at the end of your trek to visit the Inca city of Cusco and watch the sunrise of the magical Inca stronghold of Machu Picchu.
The Cordillera Huayhuash Circuit has been nominated in several books, guide books, magazines as one of the classic trekking circuits of the world as well as one of the most beautiful.
The Huayhuash is a compact, rugged range of jagged, vertical summits, including the second highest peak in Peru, Yerupajá Grande (6634m), as well as half a dozen other peaks well above six thousand metres.
Every day on this trek, hikers are treated to awesome views of towering snow-capped peaks, glaciers and turquoise-blue trout-filled lakes. There are 8 passes to cross on this spectacular trek, the highest (Cuyoc) at 5075m.
Our 10 day trek features a visit to the Base Camp of Siula Grande, made famous by the epic Joe Simpson book and film “Touching the Void”.
End your trip visiting the gorgeous Urubamba Valley and the new wonder of the world Machu Picchu. You’ll also have time to visit the Inca City of Cusco before you fly back to Lima for your flight home.
